3 Tricks to Create New Croquis Poses
If you’re like me, you might fall into the trap of using the same croquis templates over and over again. After a while, using the same templates gets repetitive and boring. With the following 3 simple tricks, you can create “new” croquis templates quickly and easily.
1) Mirror the Pose
You would be surprised how different a croquis appears when mirrored on the vertical axis. To achieve this, scan the croquis and flip it horizontally on the computer. You can also flip the paper croquis and trace with a lightbox or a window.
P.S. This is also a great way to see if the pose is unbalanced. If the weight distribution of a croquis is off, it will be evident once mirrored.
2) Tilt the Head
Changing the bend of the neck or tilt of the head alters the attitude of a pose.
3) Bend the Arm(s)
Bend arm(s) to place hand (s) on the waist, or hold a lifestyle accessory like bags, coffee cups, books, etc.
With these tricks, you can create a large variety of new exciting poses, without having to draw the croquis from scratch.
The Croquis kit makes it easy to add variety to the croquis, with interchangeable poses, head, hand, and accessory templates like bags and hats.
